Welcome

In the village center of Zonnegem, the former Rubbens Brewery, once the vibrant heart of the village as a flourishing rural beer producer, is now a protected monument consisting of a group of characterful buildings around an impressive cobbled courtyard. The impressive brewing hall is central.

In this building complex, where 5 families have also developed a form of co-housing, now lies the GUEST HOUSE DE ZOTTE PATER, an amalgamation of parts of the completely renovated MANSION and the former SERVANTS' HOUSE. A unique project in a unique environment.

You will see the mansion as soon as you drive into Steenbergstraat: a large, stately building with a stylish facade of enamelled white and blue facing bricks. A beautiful street gate, the decorative element of which (beautiful traditional ironwork) has also been used in the renovated guest house.

The mansion has had a very heavy renovation. Heavy steel I-sections were pinned right through the building like a giant skewer with extreme precision, and expertly secured to maintain the necessary structural strength. The hunting scenes in the hunting room have been preserved, as have its beautifully etched windows, which are now double-walled. Paneling has been treated and renovated with due respect.

The former servants' quarters were also heavily renovated and completely renovated. The beautiful etched windows have also been reused here with respect for the earlier window profiles.
